On 26 October 2012 the European University Association Council met in Brussels. The attendees, i.e. the EUA Board and presidents of national conferences of rectors, including the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, resolved to make a plea for the European Commission, European Parliament and Heads of Governments of EU member states to maintain the planned, higher budget for Horizon 2020, the next framework programme for research and innovation, and for the new consolidated programme Erasmus for All.
“We have come to the conclusion that expenditure on higher education, including academic mobility, and research and development must not be treated as prime costs, but as an investment for a prosperous future of Europe. CRASP has called on the Polish President, Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education, and Polish MEPs to express strong support for our position” – says the President of CRASP, Professor Wiesław Banyś.
