On 17 January 2013, the President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, HM Rector of the University of Silesia Prof. Wiesław Banyś met with representatives of a civic movement Citizens for Science in Warsaw. The meeting was held to discuss the objectives of and amendments to the Higher Education Act.
Created by scientists and academics representing various fields of knowledge, Citizens for Science aim to trigger wide public debate on the condition and future of Polish science, and support changes which are necessary to improve the quality thereof.
