On 10-11 January 2013 the main building of the Warsaw University of Technology became the venue for a meeting of the Presidium of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland. The meeting was presided over by HM Rector of the University of Silesia Prof. Wiesław Banyś.
The agenda included, among other things, discussion on the situation in higher education in the aftermath of proposed assumptions of the draft amendment to the Higher Education Act and acts governing the funding of science as well as the issue of public procurement and procedure for selecting CRASP candidates for the General Council of Science and Higher Education. Other matters that were touched upon were related to establishment of the Foundation for Education Quality and cooperation with the Polish State Accreditation Committee in respect of fighting plagiarism.
The President of the German Rectors’ Conference (HRK) Prof. Horst Hippler made a guest appearance at the event to meet with CRASP Presidium and CRASP President Prof. Wiesław Banyś and discuss cooperation between the two Conferences.
