On 17-19 February 2013, the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń was hosting participants of the Conference of Rectors of Polish Universities (CRPU) session. The official list of invitees included Marshal of the Kujawy-Pomerania Province Mr. Piotr Całbecki, Mayor of Toruń Mr. Michał Zaleski and representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The President of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, HM Rector of the University of Silesia Prof. Wiesław Banyś was participating in discussions on day one and two.
The meeting provided opportunities to touch upon issues such as financing of science and higher education in 2013, educational quality, parameterisation of research units and bibliometric evaluation of research units and researchers. Last but not least, internal affairs of CRPU were discussed. The attendees were also able to take part in the inauguration of the Copernican Heritage Days and Nicolaus Copernicus University Day.
